What does it all mean?  I was listening to a random selection of songs from the 80s and 90s and realized that the lyrics are, well,

I was listening to a random selection of songs from the 80s and 90s and realized that the lyrics probably weren’t meant to be read and made sense of.  Nope.  Click on that album cover (Wilson Phillips) and you will be taken to the YouTubes.  Have a listen.

“Hold on for one more day?”  After reading those lyrics, I am not sure that holding on for one more day is the best advice.  What if you are trapped in an abusive relationship? Just hold out for one more day?

“You got yourself into your own mess…”

Seems to be an exact opposite to a Katy Perry song.
